Duncan Macpherson is a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching. From 1967 to 2000 he taught full time in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at St Mary's University, Twickenham where more recently he has been a visiting Senior Research Fellow. He serves as Features Editor of “The Preacher” and is a tutor of the College of Preachers. He is also a member of the US-based Academy of Homiletic, the Catholic Association of Teachers of Homiletic and the Catholic Association of Preachers. He is now retired as Permanent Deacon in the Catholic Archdiocese of Westminster, but he still preaches widely and organises workshops on preaching. His publications include “The Pilgrim Preacher: Palestine, Pilgrimage and Preaching” (London: Melisende), 2004 and 2008 and “The Splendour of the Preachers: New Approaches to Liturgical Preaching” (London: Saint Paul’s Publishing) 2011. He was happily married with his wife Ann for 57 years. He and his wife, Ann, had four children, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is the literary executor of the late Professor Michael Prior C.M. and has edited two volumes of his essays and addresses Tutoring of those in training for the Permanent Diaconate
